M & K Moffatt Transport embodies all that and more.
M & K Moffatt Transport is a family-owned livestock transport business based in Miles, in Queensland’s Western Downs. The company travels right across Queensland and into New South Wales when required, providing reliable livestock transport to major sale yards, feedlots, stud operations and rural properties.
With extensive experience in bull sales, stud stock movements and coordinating Bull Sale freight, M & K Moffatt Transport pride themselves on delivering safe, efficient and professional transport tailored to the needs of their clients and their livestock.
To give an idea of the distances M & K Moffatt Transport covers, in August alone they moved over 370 bulls from Prairie, Winton, Tamworth, Armidale, Biloela, Goomeri, Boonah and everywhere in between – all in just 30 days on top of their normal local work.
Behind this business are Mick and Kathleen Moffatt, a powerful duo who truly know their stuff.
The company has been running for 18 years, with Kathleen balancing a full-time job alongside the business for 16 of those years. In 2023, she decided to leave her job, focus on the business and implement new systems.
“We were doing things the hard way. Our invoicing was really behind. Everything was manual, and the drivers had diaries in their trucks. Sometimes they would write details down wrong, then wonder why people weren’t picking up their calls,” Kathleen says.
Like many transport operators, they relied on classic manual processes.
It became clear “there must be a better way”. Eager to reduce stress and improve efficiency, they began searching for transport management software.
