Last week, the 2025 Transporting New Zealand North Island Seminar Industry Awards were held. These awards celebrate individuals and organisations that have made exceptional contributions to the road transport sector through innovation, safety, industry awareness, and training. MyTrucking was nominated as a finalist for the Fruehauf Outstanding Contribution to Innovation award.
The Transporting New Zealand North Island Seminar brought together 240 industry leaders, freight operators, and key stakeholders. It was a day of insights, discussions, valuable networking, and industry updates (all capped off with the prestigious Industry Awards Dinner).
Nat Beckham, MyTrucking’s Business Development Manager, attended. She shares:
“A personal highlight for me was the keynote speaker, Mark Law. He was first on the scene after the Whakaari / White Island eruption in 2019. What a man. It was an incredible listen and very moving.
We also have some new buzzwords. Everyone remembers “Survive 2025”, basically if you could get your business through 2025 you were going to be ok. The new messaging is “In the Mix for 2026”. The thoughts are that 2026 is going to see an improvement in the economy and business. This will flow onto “Heaven in 2027”, but that came with a warning note of staff and driver shortages.
Planning is everything. To be resilient and efficient, you need a plan. You need to know your values and have strong relationships with your team and your customers. They are the people and resources that will carry you through hard times.”
