At MyTrucking we regularly get 5 star reviews. The secret? It’s our people! Yes, the people behind the product are the key to our success. So how do we recognise our team? And what is the Good Trucker Award?
Recognition in the transport industry
Ten years ago MyTrucking started with a humble team of three. Now in 2025 we have a team of 24. Our growth is thanks to our amazing customers, supported by our amazing team!
In 2020 we reflected on the best ways to recognise our team for their efforts. Nat Beckham, MyTrucking’s New Zealand Business Development Manager, suggested we launch a ‘Good Trucker Award’ to acknowledge staff who live and breathe our company values.
The idea was hatched, and the awards have been running ever since.
Nat adds:
“Our team are great at demonstrating our values (Simple, Efficient, Customers and Family) and using them when making decisions. Awards recognise people for this and help to keep them front of mind in everything we do. I think if you asked anyone at MyTrucking what our values are, they would easily be able to tell you.”
To date we’ve had over 18 team members recognised with the award. The winners are announced at the end of every quarter and nominations come through from their team members. And how do Good Trucker Award winners feel? Nat says they “always seem stoked to be recognised!”.
Q2 Nominations: Good Truckers to warm your heart
- NICOLE. Always looking out for her team mates, always ready to offer encouragement. Feeds us all in our whole team meetings (remembering others dietary needs). Takes her role as an ambassador for MyTrucking seriously, which is reflected in the way she cares for our customers. Super efficient while also keeping things simple, so the whole team can understand. If we could clone a team member, I’d choose Nicole.
- CRYSTAL. Thanks for just being you and getting on and getting your work done. And always offering to help out where ever you can. This is much appreciated. Hope you know, but you are very much appreciated! Thanks Crystal.
- BOB. I’m not sure how many are aware of this. Bob comes into the house every morning through our colder periods and turns the heatpump on for the team inside. He even closes doors to keep the warmth in for us. None of this benefits Bob, it is only for the comfort of the team inside. I think this is one of the most thoughtful and kind things that someone at MyTrucking does without most even knowing. Thank you Bob. We appreciate you.
- SIOBHAN. Wow, you have hit the ground running Siobhan! I love how you come in and say good morning and are really engaged and involved with both parts of the business. Your timely and transparent comms really helps the team understand where everything is at so we can communicate more effectively with our customers.
